Photographer Hannah Starkey explores chance encounters between women by using actors to restage and construct complex, yet seemingly fleeting, images. Starkey, who was born in Belfast and studied in Scotland and England, suggests narratives based on personal impressions of the shifting structures and values of contemporary society. The IMMA exhibition covers her work from 1999 and it is neatly juxtaposed against a selection of her earlier work. A publication will accompany this exhibition with an essay by British photographic critic, Val Williams.
