It’s a venerable Boston summer tradition – the Boston Pops Independence Day week concerts outside on the banks of the Charles River at the Espanade. Performing from the Hatch Memorial Shell at sunset from July 3 through to July 8, the Pops, conducted by Keith Lockhart, perform programmes of popular classical and pop numbers with all kinds of special guests each year. The main event, however, is the July 4 concert, which concludes with a performance of the ’1812 Overture’ and a giant fireworks display.
